Liping Wei , Peking University


Liping Wei is Professor and Director of the Center for Bioinformatics at Peking University. She received a Ph.D. degree in Medical Informatics (now called Biomedical Informatics) from Stanford University, a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from Brown University, and undergraduate training in Electrical Engineering and Information Sciences at University of Science and Technology of China. She has had extensive industry experience first as Informatics Research Scientist at Exelixis Inc., and then as Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Nexus Genomics Inc. She was a Consulting Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University. Liping Wei is a member of the Education Committee and Conference Committee of the International Society of Computational Biology and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Biomedical Informatics. Current research interests include transcriptome-based study of complex genomic loci, computational and comparative genomics, protein structure-function relationships, and pathway networks.
